I got a cyclone micro media player any one knows how to connect to a home cinema systeem i tried with hdmi?

im not getting any sound out i only get sound out of the tv when i connect the unit to the tv via composite cable any one can help how i can et it working on the surround sound system i ot a yamaha with hdmi and composite socket . any help will be very appreciated
